About the Event

Are you a psychology graduate or a psychotherapist and considering acquiring new skills for your practice?

In this workshop, Dr Sumithra will offer a practical introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

CBT is an evidence-based psychotherapy generally used to treat anxiety and depression.

It offers a structured approach based on the model that our thoughts and perceptions influence our responses, feelings and actions.

It can easily be integrated into other therapeutic approaches and but can also be used as stand-alone therapy.

This workshop will offer the opportunity to:

1. Explore the principles of CBT and gain insight into what makes the technique so effective.

2. Learn the meaning of unhealthy thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

3. Discover how a person’s belief system can affect the way they think, feel and act.

4. Have a Q&A session with a medical practitioner that uses the technique with her patients.
