About the Event
Cancer is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality amongst patients of all ages. Clinical hypnotherapy offers evidence-based management techniques for the physical, emotional, and psychological distress associated with every step of the patient’s journey from diagnosis to remission, and even the end of life.
This workshop will present two cases which demonstrate the transformative role of clinical hypnotherapy, review the literature supporting its inclusion as an adjunctive treatment option, and review the benefits that it can bring for both the patient and the practitioner
• Review of cases
• An overview of the tool kit used to alleviate emotional, physical, and psychological suffering
• Understanding hypnosis’ role in pain management, and preparation for procedures and surgery
• Coping with radiotherapy and chemotherapy
• Hypnosis and the psychosocial aspects of cancer care
• Self-care for physicians
This session is presented by Peter Mabbutt, President of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, Head of Academics for the LSCCH – LCCH Asia Group, and a Clinical Hypnotherapist with over 25 years’ experience, and Dr Sumithra, a Medical Practitioner with 25 years’ experience and the Course Leader for LCCH Asia
