Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning
What is APEL?
APEL, or Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning provides students with a mechanism to advance their career or specialise further without repeating previous training.
Students are invited to submit their prior experience or training for evaluation. Successful candidates will receive learning credits that can be used either in full or as partial exemptions to specific modules on the professional training offered by the LSCCH–LCCH Group.

Mental Health Professionals

Professionals who have extensive experience in teaching or training others in hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, or related fields.
Hypnotherapy Practitioners and students

Individuals who have formal qualifications but wish to upgrade to clinical work.

What Do You Need to Do?
1. Provide a detailed CV & portfollio of evidence.
​Outline your professional background, education, work experience, and any relevant training or certifications.
Highlight your experience and involvement in hypnotherapy or related therapeutic practices.
Compile a comprehensive portfolio that includes where appropriate

Certificates and Transcript - include copies of any relevant certifications, diplomas, or training course transcripts. Document evidence of relevant workshops, seminars, or continuing education courses you have attended.

Show evidence of ongoing CPD activities.

Provide evidence of adherence to ethical standards, such as membership in professional organisations, adherence to codes of conduct, and commitment to client confidentiality and welfare.

2. Submission
​Submit as much of the above information as you are able together with a letter introducing yourself, your current career or work position and why you wish to APEL.

3.Acknowledgement
​
You will receive a reply an automated acknowledgement and a formal response within two (2) weeks.
You may be asked to provide further information.
Successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview
4.Interview
​The interview is a friendly discussion with an APEL advisor who will review your submitted information and help you find the most appropriate exemption for you.
5.Successful Candidates
You will receive a letter confirming your exemption or acceptance onto a specific course.
